Just prior to midnight, Thursday, 27 January 2022, Station 7 was alerted to the 40500 block of Medleys Lane in Oakville for the reported house fire. Engine 72, Truck 7, and Chief 7A responded with a total of 12 Volunteers. Captain 7 was first to arrive, finding a one story single family home with fire showing from the roof line. Chief 7A (Rector) arrived and assumed the Medleys Lane Command. Engine 72 arrived, dropping a supply line from Loveville Road(1,200 feet), positioned on side A and stretched an attack line inside the building. Truck 7 arrived on the scene and went to work opening up for the Engine Company. Engine 72, Engine 23, Truck 7, and Truck 1 operated inside the structure while all other units either staged or supplied the fire ground. Crews found fire throughout the attic space and extinguished the same. The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes of arrival. All searches proved negative throughout the house and the assignment was scaled back to units from Station 7 and 2. Units remained on the scene performing overhaul and assisting the FM's on the scene. The cause of the fire was accidental, possibly a malfunction in the HVAC system. Command was terminated and Station 7 units returned to quarters at 0200 hours.
