At approximately 0040 hours Wednesday, 14 June 2023, units were dispatched to Mechanicsville (Laurel Ridge Subdivision) for a reported “house on fire.” Dispatch call-takers received numerous calls advising that a residence was on fire threatening several exposures.

Truck 7 and Squad 7 responded with 8 personnel and arrived shortly thereafter, with personnel from the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, to find fire showing from multiple windows and the roof.

Truck 7, as the first arriving special service, laddered the residence, conducted searches, opened up, and controlled the utilities. Squad 7, arriving shortly behind Truck 7, conducted additional searches and worked with interior crews opening up.

Hollywood personnel operated for approximately 2 hours.

Chief 2B (R. Raley) was the incident commander.

Fortunately - the homeowners and animals were able to safely exit the structure prior to fire department arrival.
