The 68th Annual Installation of Officers and Awards Banquet of the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary was held on Saturday, January 11, 2025. The program was dedicated to the memory of Ladies Auxiliary Member Darlene Russell who passed away in January. She dedicated 54 years of service to the Ladies Auxiliary. Numerous members received awards celebrating their length of service, hard work and dedication to the department and ladies auxiliary. Members that were honored with their Life Membership (25 years of service) were Steve Facini and Ladies Auxiliary Past President Elaine Quade. The most notable length of service awards were presented to Ladies Auxiliary Member Molly Greenwell for 35 years of service, Donnie Johnson for 50 years of service, Past Chief Paul Wible for 60 years of service and Ladies Auxiliary Past President Leone Gatton for 60 years of service. Engine 71, which was just placed in service in December, was dedicated in honor of the Charter Members of the department. Charter Member Elwood Joy accepted the plaque that will be placed on Engine 71. Additionally, the members of the apparatus committee that were responsible for the planning and design of the new engine were recognized for their efforts and presented a plaque with a photo of the new Engine 71. HVFD Member Calvin Joy and Past Chief Robb Albert designed and presented a new display board to recognize each Life Member of the department.
