On Sunday morning over two dozen members loaded up and headed to Cobb Island in Charles County for the Southern Maryland Firemen's Parade. The members had been working for the last month on cleaning and polishing all the apparatus and preparing for the parade. Hollywood VFD once again defined "PRIDE" by bringing home the top award of Best Appearing Company Overall. Not only did we win big at the parade but the Fire Prevention Committee took top honors with 4 different awards during the convention. Also Life Member Gene Talley was voted into the Southern Maryland Firemen's Hall of Fame.
The following are a list of all the awards won by HVFD during the convention.
