Volunteers Handle 1st Due Kitchen Fire

At 1425 hours Station 7, Station 1, Station 9, Station 3, Station 2, Water Supply 5, EMS Station 79 and EMS Station 19 were dispatched to 24411 Morgan Road in Hollywood for a reported House Fire. Engine 73, Engine 74, Rescue Squad 7, Chief 7A(Riley) and Chief 7B(Brady) responded on the incident with 11 Volunteers.

Chief 7A was first to arrive finding a 1 story single family with smoke showing. Two occupants had attempted to extinguish the kitchen fire utilizing a pressure washer but advised that they could not get it out. Engine 73 arrived on the scene, dropping a supply line from Hollywood Road and stretching an attack line to the structure. The Engine OIC was assigned the "Fire Attack Group Supervisor". Rescue Squad 7 arrived and was assigned the "Vent Group Supervisor" with Engine 10 arriving on the scene and picking up the supply line on Hollywood Road. The fire was quickly knocked down with no extension found and the assignment was scaled back to Engine 73 and Rescue Squad 7.

One occupant was evaluated by EMS for smoke inhalation but refused transport to the Hospital. Command was terminated and all units returned to quarters at 1508 hours.
