March 19, 2022

At approximately 2022 hours Friday 18 March 2022, Tanker 7 and Truck 7 were dispatched to the 27100 block of Carpenter Drive in Mechanicsville for a reported house fire. A minute later, Station 7 was alerted to the 45300 block of Tippett Road in Hollywood for a house fire. Engine 72, Tanker 74, Truck 7, Rescue Squad 7, Chief 7 (Rogers) and Safety 7 (Insley) responded with 17 Volunteers on the 1st Due house fire. Communications was requested to replace the Tanker and Truck as they would both be taking in the 1st Due house fire. Safety 7 (Insley) was first to arrive finding a 2 story single family home with fire showing from the 1st and 2nd floor exterior and interior. Chief 7 (Rogers) arrived and establish the "Tippett Road" Command. Engine 72 arrived, laying a supply line from the intersection (aprox. 1200'), with the crew advancing an attack line to the structure. Tanker 74 arrived next, picking up the supply line and charging the water supply. Truck 7 arrived and positioned on side A of the structure. The crew of Engine 72 knocked down all exterior fire and proceeded to the interior for fire attack. Truck 7 went to work opening up for the Engine Company on the 2nd floor. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on location with the crew performing a search of the structure that was negative. The fire on the 2nd floor and attic area was brought under control within minutes. The fire was deemed under control by Command within 30 minutes and the assignment was scaled back. Command held the units from Station 7 and returned to rest. The units from Station 7 remained on the scene performing overhaul and assisting the FM's. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature. All units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 2230 hours.

During this incident Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department Engine 52 and Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, INC. Tanker 224 handled 2 runs in the 1st due as they were covering Station 7.
